A dated, fiberglass shower with a tall threshold, is now an Easy-Entry Walk-in Shower.
This old, builder-grade, Hot Springs Village, fiberglass shower had lost its shine and was hard to clean, and the entry was too tall. Now reimagined and remade in Onyx Collection, with a low-entry shower base, Delta plumbing fixture, a fold down bench and heavy-duty glass door.
Challenges for the homeowner
The old fiberglass shower stall had become impractical for the homeowner. They needed something that was more accessible, had seating and grab bars located where they wanted them, and a handheld showerhead. Something easy to clean, non-slip, and that would last a long time.
How we overcame the challenges
The old shower was removed down to the studs, blocking was installed for the grab bars and fold-down bench and a new Delta shower valve was installed. The low threshold shower base was set in a bed of thinset mortar for added stability and new Onyx Collection wall panels were installed up to the ceiling. A heavy duty Dreamline Encore shower door finished the job.
The End Result
The new walk-in shower is beautiful, functional, and looks like it belongs in the space. The clients' issues were addressed, and now they have a shower that will suit their needs for many years to come.
